2.0 - PREPARE AND REGISTER A LINCTV DEVICE IN EPIC: COMPLETE PRIOR TO ROOM INSTALLATION (SAMSUNG)

Complete LincTV device-management setup and pre-register devices before their first boot. Each device should already be assigned to a room for Epic bed registration.

What you need

  • A TV or monitor with HDMI

  • Ethernet access to the network that can reach the LincTV device-management server

  • AC power

  • LincTV remote

  • USB keyboard

Set up the device

  1. Connect HDMI, Ethernet, power, and the optional USB keyboard to the LincTV device.

  2. Wait for the LincTV device-management application to appear on screen.

  3. Enter the hostname for your organization's LincTV device-management instance in the **Server** field, then select **Save/Register**.

  4. Wait for the device to connect and complete its firmware update. This usually takes three to five minutes.

  5. When the device-management application returns, choose the HDMI port that the LincTV device will use and select **Save**.

  6. Wait while the device installs third-party applications, including Epic Bedside TV. Epic Bedside TV launches when installation is complete.

Configure Epic Bedside TV

  1. If prompted, enter the complete MyChart webserver URL, including the trailing slash.

  2. Register the device to the bed in Epic Hyperspace:

    1. For Epic versions from May 2025 onward, Epic Bedside TV displays a bed code for entry in Hyperspace.

    2. For earlier versions, generate the bed code in Hyperspace and enter it in Epic Bedside TV.

  3. Once the registration is complete, the device is ready for patient use when a patient is admitted to the assigned bed.
