# LincTV Demo & POC Environment Quick SetUp Checklist

*This guide should be consulted in conjunction with Epic’s own MyChart Bedside TV setup checklist. See Epic SLG #7083467 and consult with your designated Epic TS to start the process of enabling your Epic environment for use with the MyChart Bedside TV application.*

Review all steps thoroughly. You may wish to complete some steps in parallel or may choose to complete sequentially based on your resource availability and preferred timelines.

### PREREQUISITES

Having the right team members involved in the setup of LincTV from the outset will make the process go quickly and smoothly.

#### Staff members should be identified to help in the following areas:

1. Your Epic TS
2. An Epic analyst or similar position to complete the build of Epic Bedside TV in your POC or Test environment, and to assist in registering devices to beds in Epic Hyperspace.
3. A networking team member to ensure LincTV devices have appropriate access to web services and Epic services.
4. An IT technician that is responsible for the physical installation of the LincTV device and who is familiar your TV, cable, and nurse call systems.

A location should be chosen that is easily accessible by all team members. Initial setup only requires suitable network access and can be done on any TV or computer monitor with an HDMI input.

The timeline for this project is best estimated by your team after having reviewed this document and the Epic build requirements.

### Step 1: Epic Build

#### Prior to completing any steps with Lincata, you will need to:

1. Request LincTV app activation through Epic showroom.
2. Complete your Epic setup checklist.

#### Lincata requires the following information once available:

1. Provide the MyChart Mobile URL listed in the MyChart Access URL configuration table for the environment that you wish to test against. This commonly looks like: https//epic.myhealthsystem.com/MyChartPOC/, but your health system may have their own alias.
2. The Bedside TV application version your organization is on. I.E. Epic Aug 25 uses ~11.5.x. Lincata will need the actual app .APK file.
3. Epic provides a web version of Epic Bedside TV that can be tested on a computer/laptop. Ensure that you can properly register a bed on the same network that you intend to use for the LincTV device.

### Step 2: LincTV Networking/Connectivity

1. Verify the VLAN testing the LincTV box can reach https://bstv-poc.linctv.co (subject to change) on port 443 (https). If not, please open a ticket with your internal IT helpdesk to “Whitelist https://bstv-poc.linctv.co for the VLAN the LincTV box is connected to”.
2. The network must have DHCP and NTP. NTP can be either from an internal NTP or from the internet. Android uses time.android.com as the default preconfigured NTP host.

     1. **(Easiest)** Ensure the VLAN for testing (production later) can reach time.android.com
     2. **(Easy)** If time is provided by an internal server, please create a DNS (A) record that points time.android.com to your local NTP server.
     3. **(Time/management consideration)** If NTP is provided on an internal network, please provide the hostname or IP address to Lincata for configuration through our MDM server. The first time LincTV is booted you will need to set time on the device manually through android settings or use a network that allows access to time.android.com. Once the device is connected to our MDM server it will have its NTP setting updated.
3. Using a computer/laptop, ensure all epic web services required for MyChart Bedside TV to run can be resolved using their FQDN. This includes MyChart, Interconnect, OAuth, and SignalR services. If any of these services use a private self-signed SSL certificate, the root CA file and any intermediary CA files will need to be sent to Lincata as a .pem file prior to trying to connect.
4. If 3rd party apps are intended for use in the demo, ensure appropriate access to the internet has been enabled on your network.

### Step 3: LincTV Device Setup

#### Your IT Technician should complete the following steps:

1. Pair your LincTV remote with Bluetooth. See instructions in paper manual included in the LincTV box.
2. Plug LincTV into the TV/computer monitor, ethernet, and power. If Wi-Fi is used connect via the settings button displayed on the registration screen. If you use Wi-Fi Enterprise PEAP or ELP-TSL discuss required steps for connecting with your Lincata representative.
3. It is recommended to have a USB keyboard to keep plugged into the LincTV device during setup to aid in data entry and troubleshooting.
4. Register the device:

     1. Enter "bstv-poc.linctv.co" into the Server field presented on the device and click Register, from there, if the device can connect to our server, it will:

            1. Go through a firmware update (~3-5 minutes).
            2. Land you back on our registration page and ask for the HDMI input the device is connected to. After selecting the appropriate value, save.
            3. Bedside TV will get installed and be launched.

                     1. Depending on your version of Bedside TV the app will:

                                1. Ask for the MyChart Webserver URL. Our MDM solution can set this automatically for Bedside TV 11.4+.
                                2. Either generate a bed code on screen to be entered in Hyperspace, or Hyperspace will generate a bed code that will then be entered into the TV depending on your version of Epic.

Your Epic Analyst should complete tying a LincTV device to a Bed using the bed code. Once complete you should see the app start up and display a welcome page.

#### Troubleshooting

- **Error connecting to LincTV MDM Server** - The LincTV registration page shows the steps the device is taking during registration with our server. If an error occurs, please send the error message toLincata. It is likely that networking rules have not been set up properly to allow the device to access our MDM server.
- **Error after first launch of Epic MyChart Bedside TV** – If an error page is shown after Epic Bedside TV is installed and launch, it likely means that the LincTV device cannot access the configured MyChart instance on the network it is on. Lincata can assist with resetting the device. Epic also has a debug mode that can be enabled on the device and options to help troubleshoot and reset the device.
- **Error or timeout after bed code registration** – This typically happens if the initial MyChart webserver URL is correct but other web service URLs configured in the epic build are not correct or the services have not been setup correctly. If debug mode is enabled on the device, it should display the epic web service that the bedside TV app failed to connect to. Consult your Epic TS and Epic analyst for troubleshooting steps.

### Step 4: Advanced Configuration

Further steps can be taken to enrich the LincTV demonstration. These steps can be completed after initial setup and connection with Epic.

#### Pillow Speaker

- Send Lincata the model number of the TV you are testing with.
- Lincata will ship a sample pillow speaker and adapter based on the model and brand of TV.
- If you which to test with your nurse call system in a patient room or innovation lab, or with an existing pillow speaker, please discuss with Lincata. Model numbers and images of a pillow speaker will be required.
- Additional installation documentation will be provided to your IT Technician.

#### Cable/Live TV

- Send Lincata the model number of the TV you are testing with, as well as the type of live TV in use (IPTV or Coax), the cable provider, and whether the TV signal is encrypted.
- Lincata will send a TV control cable appropriate for your setup which allows LincTVs use of the TV cable input, as well as TV power and volume control from a LincTV remote and/or pillow speaker.
- Additional installation documentation will be provided to your IT Technician.
