# 4.7 ADDING USERS AND SETTING PERMISSIONS

| **For your hospital's MDM administrator.** *If you don't see the Users menu, you don't have administrator access — ask whoever does.* |

Your MDM administrator can give teammates their own logins. Everyone should have their own account — don't share logins — and only the access they need.

### **User Groups: set permissions once**

**Where:** Setup → Groups. A group holds a set of permissions (which sections of MDM its members can see and change). Two groups exist to start:

| #### **Group** | #### **Typically for** |
| --- | --- |
| Administrators | Your hospital's MDM owner(s). Full access, including adding users. |
| Content Managers | People who manage TV channels and content — e.g., patient experience staff — without touching device settings. |

You can create more groups with New, then use the lock icon on a group to set its permissions.

### **Add a user**

1. Go to Setup → Users and click New.
2. Enter the person's username and name.
3. Add them to a group. Permissions come from the group, so this is usually all you need. (You can also adjust one person's permissions with the lock icon.)
4. Save, then use the key icon to set or reset their password.

### **When someone leaves or changes roles**

Remove their account (trash icon) or move them to a different group the same day. The Users list shows each person's last login, which makes it easy to spot accounts nobody is using.
