# 4.2 MANAGING DEVICES

### **Where:** Device Setup → Devices

Every registered LincTV device shows up here with its UID, name, status, location, Hardware ID (the device's MAC address), IP address, and hardware model.

### **Edit a device**

Click the edit (pencil) icon on any device. The fields you'll actually use:

| #### **Field** | #### **What it does** |
| --- | --- |
| Name | How the device appears to your team in MDM. Use the room number (e.g., “4W-412”). |
| Visible Name | The name shown in the MDM. Can be left blank. |
| Location | Groups devices by building, floor, or unit for easier sorting. |
| Configuration Group | Decides which settings this device uses (see 4.3). Change this to move a device to different settings. |
| Apply Changes Now | Check this to push the change to the device immediately instead of waiting. |

### **Act on many devices at once (Bulk Execute)**

Check the boxes next to the devices you want, then open Bulk Execute:

| #### **Action** | #### **When to use it** |
| --- | --- |
| Restart/Reboot | A device is frozen or behaving oddly. Safe, everyday fix. |
| Message | Send an on-screen message to the selected devices. |
| Launch App | Open a specific app on the selected devices. |
| Set Debugging | Turn on debug mode to find which Epic service is failing (see 3.4). |
| Export | Download the selected devices as a spreadsheet. |
| Clear App Data | Resets app data on the device (patients' app sign-ins, etc.). Use with care. |
| Wipe | Erases the device. Only when Lincata asks you to. |
| Delete | Removes the device from MDM. Only when Lincata asks you to. |

| **⚠ Wipe, Delete, and Clear App Data can't be undone.** Double-check which devices are selected. If you're unsure, open a ticket first. |

### **Export your device list**

Click Export All to download every device — names, locations, MAC addresses, IP addresses — as a spreadsheet. This is the easiest way to keep an inventory of which device is in which room. MDM is the source of truth for this data, so there's no need to track it anywhere else.

### **Locations**

**Where:** Device Setup → Locations. Create a location for each building, floor, or unit, then assign devices to it. Each location also shows a Network Profile — that's a legacy field. Leave it set to Default.
